Event Description
Once stalled by restrictive drug policies, research into psychedelic treatments is now experiencing a resurgence. Join UCSD researchers Dr. Thomas Kingsley Brown and Dr. Jon Dean for a 2-hour CE event exploring cutting-edge applications of ibogaine, psilocybin, and DMT. Topics include current research, clinical strategies, and the neural and behavioral mechanisms behind psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Presenters
Thomas Kingsley Brown, PhD, has conducted ibogaine research since 2009 and led a landmark study with MAPS on long-term outcomes of ibogaine-assisted therapy for addiction. With academic training in both chemistry and anthropology, he brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to his work and currently runs the undergraduate research program at UC San Diego.
Jon Dean, PhD, is a postdoctoral scientist and Director of the DMT Research Division at UC San Diego’s Center for Psychedelic Research. His work focuses on the neural mechanisms of consciousness and contemplative approaches to treating chronic pain. He discovered…
