The Psychology of Music

Joy

"Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without

and know we cannot live within"

~James Baldwin

Boundless, expansive, elusive, coveted, JOY is what makes sadness worth enduring, and ultimately, life worth living. Joy is the birth impetus for some of the most beloved musical and artist creations of all time. Whether it be love, happiness, ecstasy, laughter, awe, or a shameless pursuit of pleasure, music inspired by the many facets of joy reminds us that, despite the inevitable struggles and tragedies of life, experiences of unbridled amazement and passion are possible, and in fact likely, if we persist, persevere, endure, survive. We welcome an ever-growing collection of songs here to help spread the good news, and we hope that a perusal of songs that brought joy to others helps continue to spread the love.
